The family is saddened to announce the passing of Lachie in Red Deer on April 13, 2012 at the age of 74 years.
He was born in Rocky on December 6, 1937 first residing in the Horseguard district until 1969, then moving him and his family to Rocky and then moving to Red Deer in January, 2012 until his passing.
He is survived by his wife Barb; 2 sons Darren and Craig and his wife Yoeny and son Max; sister and brother-in-law Jan and Wayne; nephew Brent and his kids Logan and Caitlan; 3 aunts Liz Lund, Ruth and Yvonne MacDonald; numerous cousins and a host of friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Alice and Malcolm; mother and father-in-law; several aunts, uncles and cousins
Lachie first went to work at a very young age on the rigs, later operating heavy equipment and farming until he started his own company and ran it until retirement. He loved the West Country especially when he could take his horses and go with friends hunting and fishing, later enjoyed quading or just to go on a picnic out there somewhere on a Sunday. He was an avid sports fan, always grew beautiful garden and for a few years enjoyed spending part of the winter in Arizona. He would often say he would like to go down on more time but that was not to be.
A Celebration of Lachie’s life will be held at the Chapel of the Rocky Funeral Home, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. Cremation entrusted to the Rocky Mountain Crematorium.
