It is with heavy saddened hears we announce the passing of Marie Helene Smith on January 5, 2020
Marie was born March 23, 1952 in Tisdale, Saskatchewan to parents Madeleine & Louis Relland. She was the 4th of 6 daughters. Marie and Doug met in 1968, in Eldersley, Sask. In April of 1971, they married and moved to Rocky Mountain House that August. While in Rocky, they grew their family: a son Brian and a daughter Therese.
Marie was a wife and mother as the family got older she re entered the work force in insurance at the Co- operators Insurance for 21 years, then at Foothills Livestock. She enjoyed her family and close friends, walks, gardening, and beautiful evenings.
Marie is survived by her son Brian, daughter Therese (Todd) Maupin, grandchildren Cody Maupin, Austin (Joe Greenwood) Maupin, and great grandson Denver Maupin. She also leaves behind her siblings; Louise (Ray) Myshchyshyn, Marguerite (Richard) Mier, Lorette (Bob) Gardner, Florence (Frances) Gress; and numerous nieces and nephews. As well as uncle Ernest and auntie Meryl Campbell and family; mother in law Rose Smith, siblings in law; Patricia Setter, Carol (Richard) Radford, Clifford (Cheryl) Smith, Margie (Ron) Colburn, Fay (Leonard) Mooney, numerous nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband Douglas, her mother and father, sister Jean Relland; father in law James Smith, sister in law Diane Mooney and brother in law Ken Setter.
