Obituary

Ella Jean Norgaard
September 24, 1961 – April 24, 2023
Ella was born in Innisfail, Alberta to Lorraine (Sevrens) and Raymond Norgaard. At the age of one, the family moved to River Point Appaloosa Ranch, James River, Alberta. This is where Ella enjoyed riding horses and playing with Spot, the dog (Spot was a good babysitter). As a young family they moved around to where the jobs were, eventually winding up in Innisfail where Ella attended school.
Ella thoroughly enjoyed being involved with Brownies, Girl Guides, Rangers and Air Cadets. She also liked many family get togethers consisting of ski-doing, camping and family time.
After her Graduation, Ella enjoyed working various jobs. She waitressed in Innisfail and was a security guard in Drumheller. Ella worked in many homes for the disabled in Drumheller and Edson.
After receiving her Class 1 driver’s license, Ella joined her Dad's business with highway truck hauling, taking her through Alberta and British Columbia.
In 2005-2006 Tax Season, Ella started a bookkeeping business in Caroline, Alberta where she worked up until her passing.
In 2006, Wade and Ella reconnected their friendship after a 25-year hiatus. They quickly realized that they were meant to be together. With Wade came his 4 adult children and eventually spouses and grandchildren.
They moved in together near Caroline. Spending their days off on the Harley or touring around visiting friends. Ella and Wade travelled all over Alberta and British Columbia for various festivals and bike shows over their 18 years together. In 2013 they took their favorite Harley trip to Sturgis, USA. Spending three weeks on the Harley, camping and touring in the USA. Making many memories with great friends.
Ella welcomed the role of being a stepmom with Wade's children and eventually her role morphed into being the most wonderful Grandma to all 7 kids. Ella never missed a chance to bring her grandkids treats and has been at their activities over the last 12 years; always there to cheer them on. Each year the kids looked forward to seeing which special Harley Davidson shirt she had picked out for them for Christmas.
Ella was a wonderful daughter, wife, friend, aunt, sister, stepmom and grandma. Always thinking about others before herself.
Ella is survived by her husband Wade Johannson; her stepchildren Jennifer (Trevor) Payton and Emily Anderson, Janine (Chris) Aria and Locklen Seymour, Joel Johannson, Jessica (Devin) Maci, Maddison and Maverick Pengelly. Her Mother Lorraine Norgaard, her 3 siblings, Rose (Albert) Benz, Chad, Josh and Crystal(Tyrel) McEwan, Edna (Wayne) Coulter,Jake and Megan, and her brother Leland Norgaard.
