It is with great sorrow we the family of Ron Rachuk announce that he passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, at Red Deer Regional Hospital Center at the age of 84 years.
Ron was born in Smoky Lake, Alberta on January 22, 1941, to parents Jean & Bill Rachuk. He was the oldest of 4 boys. He spent many of his early years in Bluffton, Alberta and left home to pursue a life in the oilfield.
He met the love of his life, Irene at a Halloween dance in 1963 and they were married on January 22, 1964, in Cantal, Saskatchewan. They then moved to Alberta where they had 2 beautiful daughters. Ron had a long and varied career in the oilfield including a partnership with JimBob Rentals. Finally, after retirement, he found a home with his NAPA family where he spent many days keeping busy and visiting. Other than his family and friends, Ron's passion in life was golf. Following his retirement, both he and Irene enjoyed being snowbirds and playing many rounds. He had the biggest smile, best laugh and lit up every room with his humour and infectious nature.
Ron was predeceased by his wife Irene, his parents Jean & Bill and his brother Bob. He is survived by his daughter’s Sherry (Bart) Ellertson, Jackie Quaife, 3 grandchildren Jordon, Justin, and Stefanie, His brothers Ken (Diane) Rachuk, Garry (Barb) Rachuk and sister-in-law Joyce Rachuk; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to mention his chosen family, Dave & Jen Auld and their boys Brayden and Bauer; as well as special friends Rick & Rhonda Berwick; and Derryl & Cindy Rocque.
At Ron’s request there is to be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Pine Hills Junior Golf Club.

Kim and Dianne Ferster:
What could I say about Ron well a lot... He has known my family for many years meeting me when I was just two years old . My dad Mike would often golf with him and as the years went passed I got to know both Ron and Sherry as loyal customers of mine at Sobeys.. I will miss his saying of "put in on my account of having no money.." My mom Dianne and I often would see him either at A&W or Tim Hortons south having a coffee and shooting the shit.. We will certainly miss his sense of humour , his smile and mischievous shenanigans ..
Rick Morrish :
We will certainly miss Ron’s banter and officiating on our yearly golf trips to BC every spring and fall. Mornings are just not the same at the coffee shop without Ron sitting at the head of the table keeping everyone in line. Ron was a good friend and will always be remembered and missed.
Rhonda Berwick:
Sending love to Ron’s family and friends. We will miss his friendship, companionship and his sense of humour tremendously. Ronnie, I hope you and Irene are playing some heavenly golf… together again.
