Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Will Paradis of Caroline, Alberta.
William was born in Golden, BC to Annie and Bill (Wilhemus) Paradis.
On Aug. 2, 1975, Will married his love Ruth Burnett and they had 2 sons Scott and Chris.
In 1977 Will and his brothers, John and Ray, started Paradis Brothers Logging Ltd. They started with 1 skidder and power saws and grew the company into what it is today. Will had a kind heart and found a lot of enjoyment giving a helping hand to family, friends and neighbours. He took immense pride in his sons, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Will and Ruth travelled to Arizona for 3 month stays for 7 years then decided to stay home to camp and do Ranger rides. Will enjoyed driving his Rangers. He put 31,000km on his 2018 Polaris Ranger in 2yrs time. He loved to take the grandchildren on rides. Large or small rides, they were all good times. He also enjoyed snowmobiling in BC. in the winter before he bought his Ranger. He enjoyed riding his Ranger year-round with its heater and AC. Will looked forward to family and friend visits here & at the house in Osoyoos, BC. He liked going on E-bike rides with everyone. Will was not fond of water, but he would roll up his jeans and walk into the lake ankle deep despite some brief moments of panic.
Will enjoyed riding dirt bikes in his young adult years and his Polaris Ranger later in life. He joined the Bighorn Heritage ATV Society Club in 2002 where he was very active in getting ATV trails open and maintaining trails in the Bighorn Dam and Hummingbird areas. He enjoyed working and being with everyone that helped with the trails. Will bought a backhoe and as time went on, he built dump trailers along with many other attachments to haul dirt, build bridges, and maintain trails.
Will was a beloved husband, grandfather, father, brother, uncle and friend. He leaves behind his wife Ruth of 49 years, his 2 sons - Scott (Karie) grandchildren Sayler and Taie. Chris (Julenna) grandchildren Kaystin, Denver and Jasper. He is survived by mother, Annie and brothers, John, Ray, Jim, Roy. Sisters Rita, Susan, Cindy, Nancy and their families - sister-in-law, Arlene, brother-in-law Paul (Kim); many nieces, nephews & cousins.
Will was predeceased by his father Bill, mother-in-law Ella & father-in-law George.
A Celebration of Life for Will Paradis, is to be held at the Caroline HUB Community Centre, on Wednesday August 13, 2025 at 1:00 PM. As well, a memorial ride will be announced at a later date.

Our parents were friends in the good old days and through the years I always felt that friend and neighbor connection. Truly, if anyone had a true need Willie would be on hand to help. My sincere condolences. Willy was a nice kid and a good man. I have enjoyed every little visit we have had over the years. Always kind loved to visit joke and laugh. I had the pleasure of watching him mature from a child to a man from before school to becoming a fine man. It has been an honour to know him and call him friend. Ruth and families, I am glad to know you had him long enough to have so many good memories, may they help to ease the sorrow you all face.
