As per his wishes there will not be a funeral service.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Roy Thacker on June 27, 2025, at the age of 77 after enduring many health issues. Bob was born in Eckville, Alberta on October 21, 1947, to Roy and Betty Thacker. His early years were spent in and around the Rocky Mtn. House area. He was a versatile man who worked in many capacities. His first job was in the concrete industry with his Father. They made all the original sidewalks in Rocky Mtn. House. Bob was also a class one truck driver, a sawmill worker, a roofer, a service and drilling rig worker and also building log homes. He found his true calling as an iron worker and onto a journeyman iron worker until retirement. His work took him to Kelowna and Nanaimo BC; various places around Alberta; the diamond mines in the Yukon and many places in The Northwest Territories. Bob really enjoyed nature, fishing, gold panning, horses, John Wayne and Johnny Cash. Bob was predeceased by his parents, his brother Donald, sisters Eileen and Faye. He is survived by his daughter Lana and son Lance from his first marriage; his grandchildren Amanda, Erika, Madison and Kendra; his great grandchildren Xavier and Trinity; his brother Ron and sisters Diane, Debbie and Denise. Bob also leaves to mourn; his loving partner of 23 years, Shirley Winchester, and her children, Troy, Devon and Shanel and their children. Bob will forever be remembered in the hearts of his loving family and friends. In his honour, as per his wishes, there will not be a funeral service.
