Levinsky, Garry “Ski”
1956 – 2023

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our brother and uncle Garry “Ski” Levinsky. Garry passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 11th, 2023 at the age of 66.

Garry was born on November 19th, 1956 to Alberta and William Levinsky. He was the 11th child of 15. He was raised on a farm by Rocky where he attended school. The family moved to town in 1968 which brought a lot of opportunities for Garry and his brothers to get involved in his love for sports. He played hockey, football, baseball, and racquetball. The boys made their own entertainment every day. A few years later, they moved out to “old town” where they were neighbors to the Mason’s and Fenc’s and made their own hockey team. After a few years in old town, his Mom and Dad purchased a mobile home and moved to North End Trailer Court. Garry worked numerous jobs around Rocky before moving to Kalispell, Montana. It was there he found his passion for construction and carpentry. Garry resided there until 1999 when he returned to Rocky and stayed until his passing.

Garry is survived by his sisters Linda Cinnamon, Patti (Milton) Elliott, Carol (Gary) Hamilton, Shannon (Ken) Gilbert; brothers: Ken (Ellen), Terry (Judy), Leonard (Marlene); sisters in law: Joyce, Julie, and Tami; numerous nieces, nephews as well as many others who call him Uncle Garry.

Garry is predeceased by his parents: Alberta and William Levinsky; brothers: Gordon, George, Michael, Lawrence; sisters: Judy Venance, Pauline Lund, Colleen Levinsky; brothers in law: Billy Cinnamon, Dave Venance and Norman Lund.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 4th, 2023 at the Hardindell Hall, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Garry’s name may be made to the Rocky ROAR Society.

Cremation entrusted to the Rocky Mountain Crematorium, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.
