Obituary

Painter, Lee Milton
June 18, 1920 – October 31, 2022

Lee Painter passed away peacefully on October 31, 2022, at the age of 102 years.
Lee was born in Huxley, Alberta attending a one room schoolhouse and riding horseback to school. At age 19, he enlisted in the Canadian Army in April of 1940. He went overseas in September of 1940 and gave 5 years of tough honorable service to his country.
Lee married Mae McKinley on July 12, 1949. They moved to Calmar, where both children were born. They moved to Gadsby in 1959 and into Rocky Mountain House in 1960 where he has resided until his passing.
On June 18, 2020, Lee Celebrated his 100th birthday. It was a special day for him, and his foot tapped in tune with the Piper leading a parade in his honor. He remarked that: “he had marched many miles behind a piper across Europe during the war”.
He is survived by his son Howard (Sandy) and their children: David, Mark and Becky; his daughter Ann (Tom) and their children: Graham and Shelley; 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lee was predeceased by his parents Tommie and Howard Painter, his loving wife Mae, granddaughter Jeanette, brothers: Alan and Bob; sisters: Bernice and Betty Lou.
