Parenteau, Dale Lee
1963 – 2023
It is with great sadness that the family of Dale Lee Parenteau announces his passing on October 4, 2023, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Dale was born to his parents Carol and Alvin Parenteau in Minnedosa, Manitoba on November 8, 1963. Dale spent the first 15 years of his life in Manitoba before moving to Rocky Mountain House in 1979. Dale moved to Calgary and spent the next several years there before moving to British Columbia in 2018 where he got a job with Square Engineering Ltd. Dale loved his job and spoke highly of his boss, Chris Malloy. In 2022, Dale returned to Rocky Mountain House with the blessing of his boss, who allowed him to work from home for the past year. Dale worked in the oil and gas industry, as well as autobody repair. Dale was a very talented individual who could do anything he put his mind to. He was an avid music lover like his dad, enjoying rock and roll and playing the guitar. He loved his cars and spent a great deal of time working on fixing and refinishing his automobiles. He was accomplished at building furniture and was a talented artist. He loved the outdoors, having spent a lot of time in the mountains, especially Two O’clock Creek, where he spent many hours, mountain climbing with his friends. In later years, Dale spent a great deal of time biking in the mountains. He loved spending time with family and had great plans for the future which included building and working on cars with his son, brother and nephew. Dale was a very proud member of the Metis Nation and his Metis heritage.
Dale is survived by his mother, Carol Parenteau, his sisters: Angie (Greg) Hitchcock, Wendy (Jason) Cooper; and his brother, Steve (Tracy) Parenteau, his beloved daughters: Kelsea Parenteau and her children Marco, Enzo and Lennox; Brittany (Kyle) Hainstock and their children Ellie and Lillian; his beloved son Tyler Parenteau (granddog Moose) and stepsons: Ryan and Kyle Wood; and his brother-in-law Harry Cooper, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Dale was predeceased by his dad, Alvin Parenteau, his granddaughter, Emma Hainstock, his niece Amanda Emmons, his grandparents: Margaret and Ben Parenteau, Irene and Harvey Hanson; and his Uncles: Jerry Parenteau and Don Reed. The family would like to thank Dr. Kendall, the palliative care team (Jacqueline and Kim), the ambulance EMT’s, as well as his home care nurse, Amber who stayed with him during his worst nights. We would also like to thank the Compassionate Care Hospice Society for their care of Dale during his short stay.
As per Dale’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Compassionate Care Hospice Society of Rocky Mountain House.
Cremation entrusted to the Rocky Mountain Crematorium, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.

Greg Henry:
Well I only work with Dale for a very short time 10 years ago at a hot rod shop, we stayed in touch right up until last fall. Going to miss his humor and talking with him regularly.
Marlena Ruiz:
While I never met him in person, he was one of my reps during his time at Square M Engineering and I very much enjoyed working with him. I am thankful to have known him, to call him a friend and sad that it was only a short 4 years. Hearing of his passing from his boss Chris was truly heartbreaking even though I knew it was coming.
Many prayers to everyone who has had the privilege of knowing Dale.
Allan Parenteau:
Dale and I were like brothers and not cousins for a long time in our lives and even when we didn’t see or talk to one another for extended periods of time, it was like seconds had passed and not years. I was, and still am, sad at his passing, but knowing the pain is gone for him is good. Rest easy brother, I miss you!
Janis Brown:
