Dixon, Casey ‘Ryan’
It is with heavy hearts the family of Casey ‘Ryan’ Dixon announce is passing on January 17, 2023, in Calgary, Alberta. Ryan was born to Elizabeth and Bill Dixon on October 29, 1983, in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.
Ryan was hard-working, outspoken, and kind. He was a bold individual, who was not afraid to follow the beat of his own drum. He had a playful humor; he would always make people laugh with his jokes. In having a light-hearted and playful nature Ryan made friends easy, as anyone in his presence felt welcomed. He loved his boys: Zayden, Kasen and Kase.
Ryan attended Will Sinclair High School in Rocky Mountain House. In his early achievements, Ryan was very courageous and ambitions, winning 1st place at Saultfaux Western Days Rodeo. In having a self-sufficient, determined, and independent spirit Ryan went on to pursue having his own business in drywalling and carpentry. Accomplishing his business in various locations. More recently, Ryan was looking to pursue a career as an Addiction Community Support Worker at ABM College and was beginning his journey as part of the Crazy Indian Brotherhood.
Ryan is survived by his children: Zayden, Kasen and Kase; siblings: Rikkeen Cardinal Morin (Theo Morin), Joey Gopher Cardinal, Craig Cardinal, Jesse Dixon (Megan Goodrich), Sierra Cardinal; Grandpa Jim Wildman; uncles Stanley Dixon and Thomas Dixon; aunties: Marina Dixon, Rebecca Dixon, Grace Gopher-Yellowface, Colleen Gopher-Yellowface and Cynthia Gopher-Yellowface; nephews: Tyshawn, Ethan, Ian, Xzayden and Watson; nieces: Honey and Viera Morin and many other family members.
Ryan was pre-deceased by his common-law: Ashlyn Kaquitts; parents: Elizabeth and Bill Dixon; grandparents: Kathleen Dixon, Maryanne Gopher and Billy Yellowface; and many more family members.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at the Bighorn First Nation Reserve at 11:00 am with burial to follow at the Two O’Clock Cemetery, Kootenay Plains.
