Obituary

With heavy hearts we mourn the loss of John “Duke” Murray Foesier on April 27, 2024 at the age of 60 after a hard fought battle with cancer. John was born the first of 6 children to Frank and Lorna Foesier on June 4, 1963 in Calgary Alberta. At the age of 6 the family moved from Calgary to the farm in Caroline where him and Duck continued to drive their sister’s crazy. John met his wife Cindy in school and married in 1987. After a short time spent living in Airdrie they settled back in to Caroline. John worked on the rigs for a significant amount of time until a couple injuries turned him to tank trucking full time. John and Cindy started their family in 1987 with the birth of their first daughter Danielle. Derrick joined the family in 1990 and Danika completed their family in 1992.

Family was everything to John and he made sure to spend as much time with family that he could. He enjoyed every minute spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, parents, siblings, and extended family, including his friends that became family.

John worked in Rocky for Trail Breaker Trucking for 11 years which was then sold to be Enermax where he managed the branch. In 2017 he made the change to work in Dawson Creek for Curtis York Trucking where he worked for the remainder of his years. John took pride in his job and loved every minute spent on the road. He made many friends in the trucking industry who he remained close with right up until the end.

John is survived by his wife Cindy; children, Danielle (Sebastian), Derrick (Amber), Danika (Andrew); his grandchildren, Payten, Paisley, Parker, and Katie. He is also survived by his siblings Frances (Ed), Donna, Donald (Rene), Karen (Dale), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and a large extended family.

John is pre deceased by his parents Frank and Lorna Foesier, sister Corrinne Foesier, granddaughter Zoey Foesier, brother in law’s Barrie Michalsky, Larry Gustaw, and nephews Blake and Brandon Foesier.
John will be very missed by many dear family and friends near and far.
