Obituary

With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to our beloved son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, Logan Adam Niemi. Born on March 9, 2001, in Red Deer, Alberta, to Jolene Olson and Patrick Niemi, Logan spent his life in central Alberta, primarily in Red Deer and Rocky Mountain House.

From a young age, Logan had an infectious smile and a kind heart, always bringing joy to those around him. He loved riding his bike, skateboarding, and swimming, embracing an adventurous and active spirit. Logan began his working life at Wilderness Village, where he took pride in his role cleaning cabins. As a young adult, he worked alongside his Uncle Dean, insulating as a labourer, before continuing his career in various roles within the oilfield industry.

Logan left us far too soon, passing on February 9, 2025. His memory will be forever cherished by his loving mother, Jolene, and her partner, Bryce Johnson; his father, Patrick Niemi; his grandparents, Benita Olson, Sandy and Dale Niemi; his uncles, Dean Olson and his family and Kevin Olson and his family, and Sean Niemi (Aunt Christine and cousin Siena) Shane and Christopher Featherstone; along with many great aunts and uncles, cousins, extended family, and countless friends. Logan was predeceased by his grandfather, Terry Olson.

We invite all who knew and loved Logan to join us in celebrating his life on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Rocky Funeral Home. May we come together to share our memories, support one another, and honour Logan’s life and legacy.

In lieu of flowers we ask that donations in Logans name be made to an Addictions and Mental Health organization in Alberta.

I knew Logan from when I lived in Rocky Mountain House. The time was short that I knew him, but from that time I could tell he was a true loving and caring soul. I wish I could have spent some more time with him, and get to know him better. He was taken too soon and surely will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Niemi Family and friends. Rest easy up there buddy.
