Obituary

Robert Andrew Parker
September 25, 1983 - January 3, 2021

It is with heart wrenching sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Son, Brother, Husband, Father and Friend, Robert Andrew Parker who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday January 3rd in Rocky Mountain House at the age of 37 years.
Robert grew up in Millet and graduated high school in Wetaskiwin where he met Chelsea. They started their family together in Wetaskiwin before making their home in Leslieville AB. Rob was a family man, he and Chelsea had 3 beautiful children together. His love for his family was the greatest gift he gave us to remember him by.
Rob was quick witted and had a very unique sense of humour. He was always able to laugh and make others laugh. Rob was always testing his mind with a chess game, trivia and random thoughts, He was able to think 10 steps ahead. He also has logged in quite the amount of hours playing video games and has passed along this passion to his children who share his love of gaming. He could often be found sitting at the kitchen table with one or more of the kids playing board games, cards, crib, checkers, the list goes on and on.
He liked to escape to the outdoors whenever possible to take in some fishing or camping. He loved to camp in the middle of nowhere and enjoy the peace and quiet of the wilderness with his family. They had many memorable family camps, fires, fishing trips, Christmas Tree finding, canoeing and so many more adventures. He loved his family more than anything. This is a point that can’t be said enough. He took them on many trips where he made sure to always have some good times and many laughs. He would take baths in the freezing cold rivers, live for a week off of cereal and hotdogs. He was an avid fisherman, although we’re not sure he ever caught much, he always enjoyed taking the kids out and spending quality time with them. Along with the outdoors Rob loved guns and weaponry. He even learned to fill his own shells.
Rob also had a passion for cars. He owned a 1988 Mustang, one summer he took the family on a trip to British Columbia. This was a trip to remember.
Rob was hard working, he had a head and heart for business, taking pride in everything he did. Celebrating 15 years with Fountain Tire. His dream was to own his own store, which he achieved in 2018. No one knew and loved more about tires than Rob.
Rob was a community-minded man and took pride in his small town and happy to be raising his family there. He was a contributing member of the Kinsmen Club of Rocky and gave back how he could.
Rob was a man of faith and had love for God. “I will always be with you” - Mathew 28:20

Robert leaves behind to mourn his loss, his loving wife Chelsea and their children Olivia, Gabriel and Lincoln Parker; his mother Mary Parker of Millet; his father Roy (Sherry) Parker of Ponoka; his brothers: John (Heather) Parker of Camrose, their children Brooklynn and Erik; Dave (Breanne) Parker of Ponoka, their children Nathan and Claire; step-sisters: Amanda Moench, her children Darielle, Ryken, Justice, Kade and Bryson of Ponoka; Jody (Shannon) Moench of Lethbridge; step-brother Brad (Mellissa) Moench of Ponoka, their children Cali and Jacklynn; his father in-law Stanley Elias (Connie) of Wetaskiwin; his mother-in-law Liana Elias of Didsbury; brothers-in-law Ross (Kathryn) Elias of Leduc, their children Jakob and Lukas; Jordan (Erika) Elias of Leduc, their children Liam and Henry; as well as Tyler (Kaylea) of Devon, their children Natalie and Wynonna. As well as countless friends, aunts, uncles and cousins.

“And he wished to go and see the great mountains, and hear the pine trees and waterfalls, and explore the caves and wear a sword instead of a walking stick.” ~ J.R.R. Tolkien

I met Robert when he arrived in Rocky Mountain House to start up Fountain Tire. He came into the Petro Canada Canada Cardlock to apply for some fuel cards. It was during that conversation that I discovered he was a Christian. My wife and I also dealt with him at the tire store. Robert always came across as a kind, gentle and helpful young man. Chelsea and Family we are sorry for your tremendous loss however we take comfort that our Heavenly Father will be looking out for you and your family and one day we will see Robert again. God bless
