Delores Bird:

Dear Larry and family,
I had not heard that Laura passed away this summer. I am so glad that I had a visit with you when I was in Alberta last summer. It was so good to see you both as it brought back memories of times spent with you both, Mom and Eric. A gem of a lady is gone from your lives but I hope that special memories fill your hearts now and in the days to come.

John and Alyce Anger family:

Words cannot convey the thumping, aching loss of someone loved so dearly. Her words, her kind smile that reached her eyes always, her voice ... all the recordings and photos in the world can't substitute for the stairway to Heaven that is your true need right now to mend your broken hearts.

We were listening to Guy Penrod's version of "Softly and Tenderly" today as my parents and I drove slowly along a lakeside road, taking in all this world had to offer today in the way of the roses we stopped to smell. It doesn't matter how many moments like that we have, it's the NEXT one we always miss, the next moment that we yearn for and are devastated to have had stolen. My heart stopped crying for a moment and sighed today, though, as I glanced in the rearview mirror at my dad, head down and sleeping. I listened to the words of the song and measured our lifetime in heartbeats.

There is a bridge, a stairway, a "one day again" ...

One day may we all be sitting around a lakeside campfire with all of our parents, grandparents, loved ones again. One day may we all follow the call to go Home where your mom will be waiting with that smile and we'll put that pot of coffee on.

With so much love and all our prayers,
Crystal Oliver
On behalf of the John and Alyce Anger family

We’re thinking of you all in this time of loss. I’m remembering visiting with Laura here in Rocky and back when we were kids playing outside as parents conversed. Our families have a long history together in the West Country. May you find comfort in memories.
