1944 - 2022

Ed was born April 28, 1944, in Rimbey to Mabel and Albert Marshall and passed away on May 24, 2022 at his home in Rocky Mountain House.
Ed was raised on a farm and attended school in the Rimbey area. Upon leaving school, he worked various jobs in farming and construction. In 1962 Ed joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served his country at sea for three years. When he left the Navy he returned to Alberta, launching his lifetime career in heavy equipment operating. Ed started his own construction company in 1978 which he operated for 28 years. His retirement years consisted of ranching a small herd of cattle and going for coffee with “the boys”. Ed lived his life to the fullest with a brilliant mind, energetic style, incisive wit and colourful opinions. Ed enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, reading western books, playing cards and horseshoes.
Ed is survived by his loving wife Shirley of 50 plus years and his two sons: Brad (Shannon), Wayne and granddaughter Tori; he is also survived by brother Bob, sister Wanda and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ed was predeceased by his parents, siblings: Donna, Carol, Verda and Gary.

I was saddened to hear my Uncle Ed passing.I had not seen him since the 2007 family reunion.He truly had the personality described in his obituary.I am so sorry Aunty Shirley,Bradley and Wayne for your loss.I know he will be missed for many yrs to come.

You were made for each other! And I always enjoyed seeing you both. I don’t know Brad, but many of these traits live on in Wayne. How very fortunate you were to have each other.
