William “Bill” Fletcher was a self-professed “little guy” who passionately lived a big life filled with adventure and abundantly rich in relationships.
Born in Victoria, Bill moved to Vancouver a few years later and had a joyful childhood with summers spent on Point Roberts, where he developed a love for the ocean. He attended Vancouver College, defying sizable odds to become a valued member of the Fighting Irish Football team. Bill spent much of his adult life in Saskatoon, where he and Mary Lou raised their four children, and he spent his career helping others find their vocation. He was an active member of his local Catholic parish and a steadfast Riders fan.
Bill was a devoted and loving Pops to Patrick (Corinne), Catherine (Peter), David (Danielle) and Sarah (Matthew). He was a proud and playful Poppa/Grandpa to Brigitte, Felix, Lucia, Cadence, Philip, Amy, Eloise, Gilbert, Edith, Magdalena, Joel, Vivian, Isaac, Charlotte, Alice and Leo.
Bill found great joy in music, theatre, sport, the outdoors, and most importantly, in his lifelong dedication to loving and serving others like Christ. His legacies will be many: from the least, his loon call and chili recipe, to the greatest, that so many now know the love of The Father, because of the love of our father. Rest in His eternal peace, our sweet Pops.
Bill spent his final years in Rocky Mountain House. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Westview Lodge and The Good Samaritan Clearwater Center for their gentle and compassionate care.

Eudoxio Paredes-Ruiz, Donna Canevari de Paredes, Felipe Paredes-Canevari:
Dear Family of Bill: We were saddened to learn of the passing of Bill. He had been in our thoughts and prayers prior to his passing, as we had not heard him during the Christmas 2023 season (as was usual). Although we had peripherally known each other through the parish, we became friends through the 2005 Summer Players production of Pirates of Penzance, since he and Felipe were both in the musical. That led to several years of Spanish classes with Eudoxio, and much social interaction, through which we came to know him much better. Recently we attempted to find Bill online in order to stay in touch, but to our dismay what was discovered was the notice of his passing on this site. Bill was such a special person, so kind and with innate decency and dignity. Please accept our sincere condolences in the passing of your beloved father/grandfather.
Patrick and Kim Field:
We think of Bill and of all of you and your several trips to our home on Quadra Island. He was a friend, a brother-in-law and a wonderful uncle. We have rich memories of swimming with all of you at the lakes, of his plans for snorkling, for sailing and anything else that he could do near the ocean. Our deep condolences to all of you and your families. Much love, Uncle Pat and Auntie Kim
Fr David and Elizabeth Brookman:
I have wonderful memories of Bill both from Victoria and Saskatoon. He was a great influence on my life and a joy to know. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you grieve this loss. May God's peace and grace be with you always. David and Elizabeth (Jennings)
Nellie Nielsen :
My condolences to Bill's family.
I have fond memories of Bill during his time at Westview Lodge. He was a very kind, and quiet man, who had a smile for everyone.
Ron Junk:
I was a year younger than Bill in high school at the Seminary of Christ the King, in Mission, BC and have fond memories of him from those days.
From the obituary I see that he has led a life focused on serving Our Lord and his family of four children and many grandchildren. What a blessing! May Bill's soul rest in peace!
My condolences to all family!
Jackie Janes:
