James “Jim” Norman Kasparsons
March 18,1940- October 26, 2024
James, Jim, Jimmy passed away October 26, 2024, at his home on Stauffer Rd. at the age of 84 years.
Jim was born in his parents' home at Natook, Alberta. He was the only boy, the second youngest of 5 children. The Kasparsons family settled in the Evergreen district in 1945. He grew up farming, going on adventures and learning many skills, also fishing and trapping. He built his log home for his family. In that home it was always filled with company, laughter and stories. Jim worked for Fish and Wildlife starting in the 1970’s. He also worked for many oilfield companies over the years. Jim loved everything outdoors: hiking, fishing, hunting, trapping, woodwork, gardening, cooking, and camping.
In the 1990’s Jim started his tree farm, where he spent many hours and days tending to the baby trees and trimming the nice big trees for sale. Jim loved good food in his semi-retirement, you would find him in the kitchen cooking various yummy dishes. Jim loved company and the coffee was always on. Many friends would stop by to listen to his stories, he was very wily and had a smart crack or joke to tell.
Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife Sharon; his children: Mike, Becky, Christine (Reed), Crystal (Wes), Darla (Kevin), Joleen and her three kids; grandkids: Shania, Eric, Jarod, Brodie, Brake; great- grandkids: Bailey, Emily, and Jakob; two special great-great grandkids James & Iyalah; his two surviving sisters: Vilma (Ed) Ebl, Nellie Liscombe.
Jim was predeceased his parents: John & Elifreda Kasparsons; his two sisters: Dorthey & Helen; brother in-laws: Bruce, Bob, Ken & Don; sister in-law: Myrna; grandson: Travis James; daughter in-law: Bev.
Dad had far too many friends to mention but was grateful for all of them.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made on behalf of Jim to the Rocky Fish and Wildlife Association.
At Jim’s request no funeral service will be held. A gathering at the Kasparsons home for close family and friends will be announced at a later date.
