Obituary

John 3:8 – “The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So, it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

Seenie Bouwman, 95 went to be with her Lord and Saviour June 12, 2025, in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.
Gezina (Seenie) Konynenbelt was born November 10, 1929, in Nobleford, Alberta.
She is predeceased by her loving husband Ben F. Bouwman (September 15, 2001) and infant son Henry William (April 5, 1953).
Seenie was a prairie girl, reader, gardener, baker, active church and community member, grandmother and great grandmother, encourager, family gatherer and a preserver of food and faith. An open house policy provided endless opportunities for fellowship, food, fires and fun. With a heart for serving others, combined with love and laughter, Seenie touched many lives.
Seenie and Ben together provided a safe and trusting home to raise their children Barrie Bouwman (Margaret), Kathy Smid (Tom), Wendy Brouwer (Garret), Kevin Bouwman (Evelyn), and Yvonne VanVeldhuisen (Richard). She was blessed with 17 grandchildren, and 31 great grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Fanny Kuipers and sisters-in-law Carole Konynenbelt, Grace Davidson, Terry Bouwman, Virginia Bouwman, and many extended family members and friends. We, her family are so grateful to God for her full and rich life! The family expresses deep gratitude to Dr. Carike Dowling and mom’s care givers at Park Avenue. Celebration of life to be held Friday, June 20, 2025 @ 1pm at First Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Ken Douma presiding.
Condolences may be forwarded to www.rockyfuneralhome.ca.

Matthew Zeggelaar :

Condolences to the Bouwman family. When I was just a little boy 4 or 5 yrs old I decided to walk to rocky from our range road. As I turned left onto hwy 11 I spotted a lady coming across the field towards me. She was pushing a baby carriage she intercepted me and turned me around a walked me back home. Hard to say what might have happened if she didn't see me walking. May God bless her family

Peter Brouwer:

My sympathy to all of you.
Cousin Seenie was so much a part of growing up in Nobleford and along with Fanny ( her sister), I have a wealth of good memories. My mom (auntie Ada) had such stories form growing up with the nieces and particularly gopher hunting. (I guess you needed to be there.) I do remember Your mom and dad's wedding and being their flower girl. Thank you for the memory pictures you sent to me. My love to you, Barrie, Kathy, Wendy, Kevin and Yvonne and all your families. Auntie Fanny and I will be together on Friday. Cousin Sheila

Ed and Linda DeYoung:

May our God's comfort and peace sustain you in the days ahead as you celebrate your mom's life. She and Ben "adopted" Karen and me into your family when we arrived to teach at Rocky Christian in 1975. What a blessing they both were in our lives. It's been a privilege to enjoy that relationship over the years!

Casey and Arlene :

We send the family our sympathy.
