Obituary

Bryan, Karla Marie

1959-2021

Karla passed suddenly on June 28, 2021 at her home in Rocky Mountain House, AB. Karla, the only daughter, was born on June 19, 1959 to Muriel and Andrew Bryan in Saskatoon, Sask.

Before moving to Rocky Mountain House over 30 years ago, Karla lived in Edmonton. While there she was on a cooking team when Princess Diana and Prince Charles visited Edmonton. On that visit, she met Princess Diane and they chatted most of the night. From the city life, Karla lived on a farm with her first husband and raised pigs. While on the farm she started her own successful business “Karla’s Perogies and Cabbage Rolls.” Karla moved to town and purchased her very own home 15 years ago. That same year she received her class one driver’s license becoming the first female in Rocky Mountain House to hold one. Roughly, 9 years ago, Karla was diagnosed with breast cancer, she successfully beat it in 2012.

Karla was also blessed with 3 daughters: Jaymie, April and Kayla.

She is survived by her mom Muriel Rita Hertz, brother Donald (JoAnn), companion Pete Marples, daughters: Jaymie Bryan (Greg Sakell), April Janson, Kayla Parasynchuk (Ryan Cullum); step daughter Tara Smith; Grandchildren: Brayden, Jayce, George, Ryley, Cohen, Aryanna and Jackson; nieces and nephew: Christina, Dawn and Matthew; plus her beloved pets Charlie and Sally.

Karla was predeceased by her father Andrew Byron.
