Dana Lee Fossum

July 21, 1962 – December 22, 2020

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing pf Dana Lee Fossum on December 22, 2020 at the age of 58 years.

Dana is survived by his sons: Curt Fossum and Anthony Fossum; mom Myrna Rud; brothers: Gerry (Carrie), Darcy (Glenda), and Michael (Irene); sisters: Shelley and Tamara Penner (Ray); nieces: Alicia (Jake), Natasha (Tim), Chantelle, Amy, and Chelsea; nephews: Shane (Corrinna), Matthew, Kevin, and Lance.

Dana was predeceased by his father Alfred Fossum and his dad Melvin Rud.

Dana was a kind and fun-loving man, his stature may have been small, but he has a huge kind heart for everyone.

Dana was born in Victoria, B.C. later moved to Edmonton and finally settled in the Amisk, Alberta area during his early teen years. He could always be found horsing around with his brothers wither hunting, fishing, or camping. Dana attended school first in Edmonton then in Amisk and then Hughenden. Upon leaving school he moved to Calgary where he worked as a Construction Worker on many construction sites in downtown Calgary. After spending numerous years in Calgary, Dana decided on a change of location which found him moving to Edmonton, where he would reside until his passing. Dana was an avid reader, woodworker, and handyman. During the winter months you could always find Dana with a shovel in his hands cleaning someone’s sidewalks and in the summer with a broom taking care of debris on those same sidewalk’s. Dana spent numerous summers and Christmases in the Rocky Mountain House area visiting, camping, and hanging with his brother Gerry and family.

A family celebration of Dana’s life will be held at a later date.

In honor of Dana’s Life, we ask that you light a candle for him and those we have lost during these trying times.

Russ and Loree :

We were sorry to hear of Dana’s passing! Our condolences to the Fossum families.

I will always believe in you. And that’s more powerful than memory. You showed me a lot of things. I learned a lot I didn't know, But you forgot to teach me one last thing - How to let you go. I know you didn't mean to leave Sometimes we have no choice. I miss being your sister, Hearing my name called by your voice. I wish I got to say "I Love You" before you were given to the sky. If I was granted one last wish, I'd ask to say "Goodbye."
