Murphy, Mark

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not depend on your own understanding."

-Proverbs 3:5

September 19, 1992 - July 18, 2020

Mark David Dean Murphy was born in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta on September 19, 1992. He was the first born to Connie Wickins and Matt Murphy, followed 5 years later by his sister Carilee. As a child, Mark was always very rambunctious, always helping his grandparents on the farm and loved helping his dad work on cars in their shop. Family always played a very important role in Mark's life. He was very protective of his little sister, Carilee. He even got suspended in Grade 5, protecting her from a bully at school and was determined to toughen her up. He taught and passed his love for sports on to Carilee, dressing her up in hockey pads and using her as a guinea pig for practice. Many adventures with these two inseparable siblings, making tree forts, quading up the countryside, playing cops and robbers tying each other up and timing each other to get out. Ripping up some good "Pow" on mountains together and making boxing rings out of the basement furniture.

Mark attended school in Rocky Mountain House, he was always involved in sports playing hockey, basketball, and football. Him and his best friend Austin put many miles on the pedal bikes, exploring the Prairie Creek Area and getting into trouble. Right out of high school he always had the drive to work, getting his Class 1 license at the age of 18. Mark was always thinking about the future and ways he could advance his skills and better himself. He started working at Oil Boss in 2011 which eventually became All Choice Rentals, where he worked for nine years and became part of an amazing work family. In 2012 Mark met the love of his life, Danielle Trimble. They dated for six years and spent a lot of time adventuring, camping with friends and loving their fur babies. In 2017 on a trip to Spokane, Mark proposed. They were married September 15, 2018 on his grandparent’s farm. In their 2 years of marriage they went on a lot of adventures in Europe, Cuba and loved exploring close to home with their dogs Bender and Lola.

Mark loved and supported his family in the most amazing ways. He always went above and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of and would always lend a helping hand.

Mark had a passion taking something old and turning into something fun and fast, from motorbikes to cars, he always had a few projects on the go. He cherished taking bike trips with his mom and was able to cross an item off his bucket list when they traveled on the Going to the Sun Road in Montana.

Mark is survived by his wife Danielle Murphy and furbabies Bender and Lola, his mother Connie Wickins (Mark Loewen), his father Matt Murphy (Courtney Murphy), his sister Carilee Pearse (Cole Pearse). His in laws Christa and Gavin Trimble. His grandparents Rupert and Wanda Murphy and great grandmother Betty Lewis. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. Mark was predeceased by his grandparents Beryl (2018) and Ernie Wickins (2010).

Mark will be laid to rest at the Prairie Creek Cemetery, and with COVID parameters in effect; honored with an intimate memorial service later that day.
