Linda was born to Albert and Jessie Gates on November 17, 1966, in the small town of Cabri, Saskatchewan. Despite being born in Canada, Linda spent most of her early childhood travelling and briefly living in various countries around the world including Malta, Brazil, France, Spain, and Columbia before finally settling in Canada with her family. Linda spent her childhood surrounded by many aunts, uncles, and cousins making for countless loving relationships and endless memories that she cherished for the rest of her life.
At the age of 19, Linda met the love of her life, Stephen, whom she would happily marry on August 8, 1987, in Edmonton, Alberta. Together, they embarked on a 37 yearlong marriage that would bring them to Fort McMurray and then later to Rocky Mountain House, which would become their home for her remaining 25 years. Linda’s biggest joy in life was being a mother to her four children. She had always wanted a big family and to live a life filled with connection, devotion, and love. Eventually her family of six would grow to become a family of eighteen. This would include her nine grandchildren who were the absolute lights of her life. Nothing made her prouder than being a grandma to her grandbabies.
Early in Linda’s adult life, she enjoyed working in daycare and retail until eventually finding her passion working in the healthcare nonprofit sector, focused on serving the populations of persons with disabilities. Linda was initially hired as a Relief Support Worker in 2002 and by 2018 Linda moved into the position of Executive Director for Rocky Support Services Society. Linda was dedicated to working within this nonprofit organization for 22 years.
Linda valued spending her time with grandchildren and making memories with her family and friends. She enjoyed travelling and working within her community. Early on she would volunteer at her children's schools. Most recently, she would spend time volunteering for the Compassionate Care Hospice Society, by holding space at bedside for dying individuals and their families.
Linda was predeceased by her loving parents, grandparents, and various aunties, uncles, and cousins.
Linda is lovingly remembered by her husband Stephen; children Michael (Sarah), Jessica (Stephen), Kendrick, and Gabrielle (Mitchell); grandchildren Aaliyah (12), Avaiah (7), Anixander (6), Everly (6), Markanin (5), Finnegan (4) Isabella (2), Emmett (2), and Aubrey (1). Linda will also be deeply missed by her brother, many brother and sister-in-law’s, several lifetime friends, cousins, and her community.
Linda’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024. There will be an intimate service at Pine Grove Cemetery for her final resting place, with only close family to attend.
Friends and the community are welcome to join Linda’s celebration at the Rocky Funeral Home Chapel at 12:00pm, with refreshments to follow in the reception room. Any guests that would like to share a story, memory, or kind words in remembrance of Linda will have an opportunity to do so during the open mic portion of the celebration.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests to please send donations, ‘In Loving Memory of Linda Bozman’ to Rocky Support Services Society. E-transfer donations are accepted through info@rockysupportservices.ca or via mail: 4544 47 Avenue, Rocky Mountain House, AB T4T 1C5.

Her family would like to express their deepest gratitude towards Linda’s Lung Transplant Team, her Lung Donor and their family, and for the compassionate care received from the ICU team of the University of Alberta Hospital.
