Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dad, grandpa and great grandpa Don Curr.

Don was born June 15, 1941, and passed away, surrounded by his family on April 28, 2025. He was born in Mirror, Alberta and spent his youth on the family farm in Alix. He spent his entire working years in the oil patch throughout Alberta. Don will be fondly remembered for his quiet, tight-lipped demeanor, his sly wit and his passion for golf, hockey and baseball. For close to 20 years Don and Shirley looked forward to being Snowbirds in Yuma.

Don is survived by his children Tami (Kelly) Black, Terri (Darryl) Marchand, Trevor (Cathy) Curr. Grandchildren Trisha (Mike) Datema, Dustin (Brandy) Black, Alysha Marchand (Mathieu LeMessurier), Spencer Marchand, Sharise Marchand (Ethan Forrest), Taeler Curr (Damon Rowling), and Connor Curr. Great grandsons Jeremy (Justine) Datema, Carter and Ethan Datema, Zachary and Zander Black and one brother Charlie (Helen) Curr. He was pre-deceased by his life partner Shirley Leavitt.

The family would like to send a special thank- you to Ruth Gale for all her help and support with Don.

Thank- you to the nurses and staff at the Rocky Hospital for their care and attention during Don's final days.

Condolences may be forwarded to www.rockyfuneralhome.ca.

Condolences

Harvey Johnston :

Great man Don he made lots of work for me to help me get more experience and Don could
Golf more days with pay. Ha Ha God bless you. Thank you Don.

Richard and Louise Velichka :

Dear Tami and Families. So sad to hear of The passing of Don. Richard said he worked for Don back in the day. Be comforted that he is no longer in pain, but now at peace. Sending our deepest sympathy .

Patty Atkinson:

My sincerest condolences to all who mourn the passing of Don. I always enjoyed his quiet demeanour. Terry and I enjoyed both Don and Shirley when we were part of the Friday golf group in Yuma. I can’t believe the three of them are now all gone, but certainly will never be forgotten. It was great that Don got to spend his last winter in Westwind although we could all see he was not his usual self. He was proud of his family, and they enriched his life. He was an optimist, and as we said goodbye in March he told me he planned to be back south in the fall. He will be missed as he gave us all some very good memories to cherish.
Sincerely,
Patty Atkinson (Nanton, AB)

Donna Hunley :

To all the families. So sorry for your loss. Hang on to all the good memories

Danine Weber:
