Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Robert “Wayne” Smith on July 23, 2024 in Sundre, Alberta. Wayne was born on July 8, 1940, in Nipawin, Saskatchewan to Viola and William Smith, the 3rd child of 4.
When Wayne was 16, he left his parents house in Saskatchewan and relocated to Alberta with his brothers, finding any work he could. Some of these jobs included ranching, delivering milk and ice, and being a pipe insulator. His true work love was driving trucks. In 1974, he settled in Caroline with his truck business “Wayne Smith Tank Truck Services.” When trucking came to an end, he finished his working career, providing cut firewood throughout central and southern Alberta.
Wayne will be forever loved and missed by his family and friends.
As per Wayne’s request, no service will be held.
