Banks, Elizabeth Euphemia Inglis
1945-2023
Elizabeth Banks passed away peacefully on October 10, 2023, at her home in Nordegg, Alberta.
Elizabeth was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on the 1st of December 1945, to Anne (Betty) and Charlie Murphy. She was number three of six children in the family. Elizabeth entered the government service as a short-hand writer and typist after graduating the Edinburgh Academy for English, Writing and Typing.
Elizabeth met Roland (Reggie) her husband and partner at a community dance, it was love at first sight. Their marriage lasted for 58 years until she succumbed to a variety of ailments. In that time, she travelled the world, had many businesses, including the Beer Cabin, and provided a warm home to raise a family. Elizabeth and Reggie had two children: Jeremy and Samantha. In 1987 the family immigrated to Canada, residing in the West Country where she enjoyed the peace and quiet of the countryside and nature. Elizabeth was a kind soul; who loved reading, jigsaw puzzles and playing cards, she loved classic movies and talking with friends and family.
Elizabeth will be sorely missed by her husband, children, family, friends and all who knew her.
At her request there will be no service.
