Obituary

Glenn, Herbert “Herb”
1930-2022

Herbert “Herb” Logan Glenn passed away peacefully on June 26th at the age of 91, with his daughters by his side.

Herb was born July 24, 1930, in the Markerville area to Madeline and Wilfred Glenn, the second of five children. He spent his childhood on the farm and attended the Craig School.

Herb started working oil rigs at the age of 15, beginning a lifelong career in the oil industry. He worked for many different companies over the years mostly in Alberta, BC, and NWT, but also did a stint in Pakistan. He was referred to by many as the best deep hole man in the industry. He made many lifelong friends in the oilfield and was highly respected.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughters; Diana (Warren) Randall, Theresa (Barry) Boyer, Bonnie (Jim) Jensen, and Cindy Phillips, stepchildren; Mickey (Maura) Cowie and Shelley Cowie, 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, sisters; Irene Becker and Marie (Larry) Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews; as well special friends Edith and Bill Shaw.

Herb was predeceased by his first wife Helen, daughter Linda, second wife Verna, sons in law Tim Phillips and Hugo Fiset, grandson Colin Fiset, great granddaughter Darian Randall, and brothers Butch and Bud Glenn.

My sincere condolences to all of Herbs family. I first met Herb in the field when he was consulting for Aquitaine and Husky in the foothills.
From day one he was a true gentleman, very likeable and honourably one of the nicest people you would ever meet. It was a pleasure to have met you - RIP Herb.

Herb was the consultant that I enjoyed working with while I was at Jimbob rentals always gruff but very welcoming once he got to know me at his rigs!
One of the best and beat me at Gin Rummy whenever he had a moment to play!
