“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard”

Holly Elizabeth Furniss (February 16, 1993 – October 28, 2024)
It is with great sorrow that we announce that on October 28, at 31 years old Holly passed away peacefully, surrounded by family.
Holly was born in Lindsay, Ontario, where she spent the first eight years of her life, before moving to Rocky Mountain House, Alberta with her family. Holly loved being a mom and devoted her time to caring for her three children. When Holly loved something, everyone knew it. She loved elephants, which she had pictures and figurines of, and plants in abundance in her home. She loved her cat, Torque and French Bulldogs Tux, Winnie and Meekah.
After the birth of her children, Holly returned to school, completing her legal assistant diploma and working in her field. This was such a proud moment for Holly and everyone in her corner.
Holly is lovingly remembered by her children, Bryson, Paxtyn and Nash, her mother, Shelly (Brian), her siblings Jessica (Courtlin), Michael, Christopher (Payton), Kayla and Kevin, as well as her Grandma Carol, Aunts, Uncles, niece, nephews, cousins and friends.
Holly was preceded in death by her Grandparents, Dolly, Jim and Ira, and her father, Paul.
A service will be held at the Rocky Funeral Home, Monday November 4, at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider a donation to Operation Smile Canada or to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
Condolences may be forwarded to www.rockyfuneralhome.ca.

it was sad to see you go, goodbye holly.
Richelle Rank:
I am heartbroken to learn of Holly's passing. Though we grew apart as adults, my teenage years were so brightened by the friendship we shared. Holly was my best friend from the age of 13 to 18, and we went through so much together in that time. She was my rock during those years, and I did my best to do the same for her then too.
In some of my darkest moments, Holly stood by me with unwavering support, and I will always be grateful for that. Her mom also played such an important role in my life then, and I feel deep appreciation for the love and guidance they both provided, I will never forget those times.
My heart aches for Holly's children, her mom, her siblings, and all those who loved her. She truly was a light, illuminating my world when I needed it most. Her happiness was infectious, she always knew exactly how to ensure that people knew they were important, loved and cared for. Holly was so special, adored and loved by so many. I hold onto the laughter we shared and the countless memories we made that I will cherish forever. My thoughts and love are with her family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.

Bev Emmons:
I am so deeply saddened to hear of Holly's passing. My condolences to Shelly, Holly's children, siblings, and all of her extended family and friends. I had the privilege of working with Holly for almost a year at her first job in a law office. She was always so friendly, kind and funny. Everyone liked Holly. One of the clients even bought her a beautiful Amaryllis plant to show his appreciate for what an excellent job she did handling his real estate deal. He said she was the best real estate conveyancer he ever worked with. She was always honest, hardworking and a pleasure to work with. She liked to share funny stories and always had to share a new flavor of coffee she was trying. She loved her family so much and wanted to spend as much time as she could with her children before they were all in school full time, so she decided to take a break from work. Her last day of work, I walked with her outside and we said our goodbyes, she started to walk away and then turned around. came back and gave me a big hug. That was Holly. She will be missed. I pray that God comforts you and that all the wonderful memories you have of Holly sustain you until you meet again.
