It is with great sadness the family of Gordon Joseph Crocker announce his passing at home on
Wednesday Sept 18,2024, at the age of 92. Gordon was born in Fort William, now called Thunder Bay,
Ontario on June 13, 1932, to Mabel and Joseph Crocker. In 1952 he married the girl next door, Elsie
Green and they just recently celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary. They had 5 children Sherri
Forester, Wayne Crocker(Mona), Ian Crocker(Carol), Jody Crocker and Mandy Niewadomy(deceased). He joined the Royal Canadian Airforce in 1951 and retiring as a Sergeant after 20 years- He then returned to Fort William and worked for the Ontario government as a blaster. Once the children where grown and left home, he got a job as a caretaker on Komas Ranch on Denman Island off Vancouver Island. Elsie and Gordon had a beautiful garden on Denman Island. Although, Gordon didn't like gardening and did not know the name of any plants he was Elsie's gardener assistant and proudly gave dinner guests tours of the garden. They lived there for 20 years and when he retired a 2nd time in 2006 they moved to Rocky Mtn. House, AB to be closer to their children. Even as a boy, he was an avid hunter and fisherman and always enjoyed being outdoors. Gordon is survived by Elsie his wife, his brothers Jimmy(Chris) and Alan(Rosland) Crocker his 4 children, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Barb C:
I enjoyed all my time with the Croker family. When I met Gordon and Elsie they welcomed me and treated me like one of their own. Gordon always had a great story to tell. There was always laughter around the dinner table. He enjoyed watching sports, hockey of course, but I now appreciate a good tennis match because of the time we spent watching together. He really enjoyed having his family around playing yard games and fishing. He was always busy doing something. Almost 80, out there mowing the lawn and assisting Elsie in the garden. I remember thinking… I hope I have his energy when I’m that age. Some great memories, fondly remembered. Rest easy Gordon.
It was a pleasure.
