Celebration of Life will be held on August 1st, 2025 6:00PM at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #64 in Pine Falls, MB following the meat draw.

Obituary

Rubena was born and raised in Victoria Beach, MB. During her working career she nursed at Winnipeg and Pine Falls. She assisted her husband Peter with their highway construction company together. They later built and operated the S.P.A. Drive Inn and the Birchwood Motor Hotel on Hwy 59. Rubena retired in 1984. She became very active in Senior Scene in Victoria Beach and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #64 in Pine Falls for many years. She served as President and was a Life Member of both organizations. Her greatest joy was volunteering, family visits and winter travel. Rubena is survived by her daughters Sharon Mignon, Patricia McLarnon, and Angela Hanssen (John); six grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by parents John and Winnie Anderson, sisters Mary and Lorna, brothers Melvin (Bud) and Wilfred. Rubena spent her last two years living in Buck Lake, Alberta enjoying extra time with her daughter and grandchildren. She passed away peacefully in Buck Lake, Alberta with her daughter Angela by her side. Rubena wished no funeral. In her memory she asked to give a happy smile or friendly wave to someone each day.
