Obituary

William ‘Bill’ Graham Taylor

November 18, 1966 – December 23, 2020

William ‘Bill’ Taylor passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on December 23, 2020 at the Clearwater Centre Hospice in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta at the age of 54 years, after a brief battle with cancer.

Bill was born November 18, 1966 at Brantford, Ontario, the youngest in a family of three boys and one girl to Vivian and Robert Taylor. The family moved to Souris, Prince Edward Island in 1972, where Bill and his siblings grew up. He spent the early years of his career working the fishing industry down east. In the late 90’s Bill came out west to visit his brother, Bob, where he fell in love with the mountains and decided to stay and make Rocky Mountain House his new home. Soon after he obtained his Class 1 Drivers License and began work with the Rocky Waste Authority where he remained until the last few weeks.

In recent years, Bill mostly enjoyed quiet evenings at home with his partner Neila, fires in the backyard firepit, fishing, road trips and playing his guitar. He was a proud homeowner and loved to keep his yard maintained and well-manicured. He had an infectious laugh and especially enjoyed the company of his cats.

Bill is survived by his partner, Neila Knapp; sisters Tanya Murray (Pete) of Scotland, Ont, brother Brad (Nancy) of Souris, PEI and their extended families.

Bill was predeceased by his parents and his brother Bob in 2010.

No Service is planned for Rocky Mountain House.

According to Bill’s wishes, his cremains will be returned to his family in Souris, PEI.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Rocky Mountain Crematorium, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.

Memorial donations in Bill’s name may be made to the ROAR Society at: roarsociety@yahoo.ca phone 403 844-6024 or PO Box 2098 Station Main, Rocky Mountain House, AB T4T 1B5

Condolences

Rod Parkins:

I worked with both Bob and Billy at the Waste Authority and both were great guys. It's a shame they're both gone to soon.

Sharyn McCormack:

I was so sorry to hear of Billys passing.
Even though o haven’t spoke to him in years, I always considered him a friend.
We met through friends while at Souris High School. I enjoyed hanging with the metal head guys more than many girls my own age. Billy always accepted me into that club. We had lots of laughs and many more memories were made over the years.
Plays some tunes in heaven, Billy
Your friend,
Sharyn

Rose MacDonald (Dunphy):

So sorry to hear of the early passing of Billy (as he was known here in Souris, PEI). He was a great friend to my brothers. Billy and Bradley were known as fine young gentlemen growing up in Souris. Condolences to all his family.

Souris, PEI
