Obituary

Beloved daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend Chloe Melissa Valstar left us unexpectedly December 29, 2024, at the age of 24. Chloe was born at the Red Deer Regional Hospital May 3, 2000, to parents Brandy and Dave. She spent her childhood in the Leslieville and Rocky Mountain House area where she grew up close to family and friends before relocating to Edmonton and Grande Prairie then came back to her roots in Rocky Mountain House until her passing.
Chloe loved animals, especially her cats Pablo and Spidercat and dogs Nixon and Louie. Chloe was Nixon’s most favorite person, getting so excited every time she came home. Chloe grew up with a zoo of animals from her donkey Norton to a llama, ducks, horses, and more. The mountains and being outdoors were where she most enjoyed to be. She was always up for an adventure whether quadding, hiking or travelling. Chloe had the most beautiful heart and soul. She saw the world differently than most. She loved fiercely with her whole being. Her smile made any situation better, she was stunningly beautiful inside and out. She cherished a select few people throughout her life, special bonds that will never be broken.
Chloe is deeply loved and will always be cherished by her mom, Brandy Loucks (Dustin Black), stepbrothers, Zachary and Zander and extended family. Her Gran, Susan Dickson, Papa, Ron Loucks, Aunts and Uncles Melanie & Brent Bott, Bryce Loucks, Kali Reichert and Kacie Reichert. Cousins Rylan (Karleigh, Miller) Bott, Kaiden (Jordyn) Bott and Makayla Fair.
Chloe also leaves to mourn her dad, David Valstar (Jennelle Anderson), stepbrother Jaxson, and extended family. Great grandmother Doris Henson, Grandmother, Suzanne Valstar. Aunts and Uncles Marie & Kelly Loomer, Rick Valstar (Kathy), Janice Valstar, and Randy & Peggy Valstar. Many cousins Ashley (Matt, Briar, Eli) Bugiera, Sean (Jordyn, Huxsyn) Valstar, Jessica (Corbin, Scarlett, Elsie, Emmett) Veenstra, Joshua Valstar, Julianna Valstar, Riley Loomer (Blake, Sirenna), Dustin (Taylor, Kyra), and Cody Loomer (Shelby). Chloe was predeceased by her grandfather Peter Valstar.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025at 2 P.M. at the Chapel of the Rocky Funeral Home.
We would like to invite family and friends to share a memory, poem, or tribute to Chloe at her service.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to an animal shelter of your choice in Chloe’s memory.
As long as we live, she too shall live, for she is a part of us, as we remember her.

Katherine Hogan:

We are so very sorry for your loss. Chloe was a sweet, funny kind young woman. Gone too soon. Rest in peace.

Haley Willert:

I had the pleasure of sharing the love for figure-skating with Chloe, as well as making memories from living closely together as teenagers. My condolences to Brandy, Family and Friends.

Krystal Armitage :

I got to know her quite well when she was in school and was able to reconnect a couple years ago. She made my heart full and made sure to share with me some wonderful things. She said being a teen (when I knew her) was a lot and she put those she loved through it but now that she was older ( not old enough I’m so sorry) but that her family loved her through it and she was so happy they did. It was a big deal for her to tell me that specifically. You all were loved by her. You should hear that.

Uwe Henseler:

I am so sorry to hear this shocking news.
My deepest condolences to Brandy, Dave and family for the loss of their sweet daughter.
My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Charlene Hainsworth:

I didn't know Chloe but from all the comments seen, it sounds like it would have been my privilege to have known her. It sounds very much that Chloe was blessed with so many life experiences and she made her time here on earth worth it. There are simply no words to comfort your families during this time. God needed and Angel and I'm saddened for you that Chloe was that chosen Angel. I pray you find peace and comfort in your memories of her. God Bless

Glen Roberts:

So sorry For loss. Please hang in there it's a tough road but you can do it

David Stephens :

My condolences to Chloe’s family and friends, Chloe and I were very close friends these past few years, I think of Chloe as one of the most kind and caring people I’ve ever known. Chloe’s unwavering commitment to her friends, her love of all creatures big and small.. doesn’t match the size of her heart. The world will be a bit dimmer without her light.

Juli Yu:

I am shocked to hear the news of Chloe passing. my heart truly breaks for Brandy, the Valstar/Loucks family, and all of her loved ones. Chloe was a very loyal kind friend and the memories of us being young, foolish, and being kids in Rocky will be held so close to my heart. I am so fortunate to have known Chloe. I am sending my love to the Valstar and Loucks family during this difficult period.
You’re gone too soon. I love you and I will miss you very much. I hope you are resting peacefully up there.

Treena Ironside, CFI:

Alanet Clayton:

I can’t begin to express my condolences on this loss. I never knew Chloe, but hold the Valstar family close in my heart having grown up with Marie. My heart breaks for all of you. May you find peace and comfort in your memories. My love and prayers are with you all.

Tammy Marshe:

To the Valstar and Loucks Families,

Please accept my deepest sympathies on the passing of Chloe. I met Chloe when she came to Cape Breton with her parents, Dave and Brandy and she was a lively, glowing young girl who had a zest for life. I hope you take comfort in the memories you shared with your darling girl as you navigate these most difficult times to come. Please take care of one another.

Annie Hammell:

OH Ron, Brandy, Dave and all the family I am so sorry for your loss of this beautiful girl

Jaylisa MacEwen(Cretney):

Chloe was great friend to my sister for a lot of years. I will always be thankful to her for being that friend my sister needed when I couldn’t. Chloe was a fun quiet girl and I enjoyed the moments when she was around. I will always remember the little blonde girl with the big dog in the backseat of her car. Rest easy sweet girl.
