October 28, 1921 – August 30, 2019

When she was 22 years old her and her sister Wanda worked for Jim Spence at different camps, until she married the love of her life Vernon Clearwater in 1945. Their son Dale was born October 22, 1945. When Dale was 18 months old (1947), they moved to Trail, B.C. where they stayed for 6 years before they decided to move back to Alberta. In 1957, Velma worked on the desk at David Thompson Hotel for 3 years where her husband managed. She and Vern then moved to their second homestead at Caroline just south of the museum and in 1977 they sold the farm and moved to the Everdell Area, until their move to town in 1987. They lived in Rocky Mountain House until the passing of Vern in 2005. Velma then made the decision to move into the West View Lodge and then to the Clearwater Centre where she passed away. Velma had a love like no other for her Husband, Son, Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Great great Grandchildren and of course her dogs and horses. She spent many days on the farm milking cows, riding pastures and making sure there was supper on the table after a hard days done.
