Obituary

It is with profound sadness for those of us left behind that we announce the passing of Lenard “Len” Joeseph Pike. Lenard went home to Jesus on Sunday April 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after a hard-fought battle with esophageal cancer.
Lenard was born in Red Deer, Alberta to Dwight and Laurelei Pike on June 1, 1977, and was raised on an acreage northeast of Rocky Mountain House. In his teenage years, his mother moved him and his siblings into town, where Len attended high school and played football for the Will Sinclair Rebels.
After high school, Len began working on the pipeline, and enjoyed spending time with friends, cruising around town, going to movies, and playing pool at local pubs. In 1997, on Halloween night, Len began dating the love of his life, Jenn—a moment that changed everything. From that night on, they were inseparable.
In the spring of 2000, Len shifted to drywalling, and in August of that year, he and Jenn welcomed their first child, Isaicc. The young family moved to Airdrie for a short time before settling back in Rocky Mountain House in 2001, where Len began working with West Fraser LVL. He and Jenn were married on August 25, 2001, bought their first home in May 2002, and soon after welcomed their daughter Kenzie in August of that same year. Their family was completed in April 2004 with the birth of Nataleigh. In 2005, they purchased the acreage that would become the heart of many family memories.
Len was a devoted family man and a steady, loving presence in the lives of those around him. He cherished time spent camping—especially at Preacher’s Point—and enjoyed family campfires, music, board games, video games, outdoor games, and the daily routines of yard work, caring for animals, and gardening. He loved the outdoors and found joy in family road trips out west, visits to Saskatchewan and BC, a special journey to Halifax, and a magical trip to Disneyland. Lobster Fest at Saskatchewan Crossing for Mother’s Day and getaways to Jasper were favorite family traditions. More recently Len grew to love wood burning, working with epoxy and panning for gold which took the family on many adventures.

Len was a quiet and thoughtful man but didn’t shy away from deeper discussions, especially about faith and religion. After much reflection and with joy Len chose to dedicate his life to Jesus and was baptized in November 2023. What a blessing and testimony that was for his family to witness!
Len was deeply thankful to witness Nataleigh’s wedding in 2024 and being able to welcome her husband Max into the family. He was also happy to experience a memorable helicopter ride through the mountains with Jenn—an adventure that captured his quiet appreciation for life’s beauty.
Though shy and soft-spoken, Len’s calm strength and warm spirit were felt deeply by all who knew him. He was genuine, kind, and always put others at ease. His quick wit and hilarious sense of humor made him a joy to be around, especially for his kids and close friends.
Len's legacy is one of love, laughter, loyalty, and quiet strength. He leaves behind his beloved wife Jenn, their children Isaicc, Kenzie, and Nataleigh (Max), numerous family, friends and friends who became family. He leaves a lifetime of memories that will be held close by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Life will be held Saturday April 19th, 2025, at the Rocky Alliance Church at 1:00pm.

For those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Len’s name, please make it to the Compassionate Care Hospice Society.
