Wilfrid "Wilf" Logan Glenn

Sep 3, 1953 - Jul 8, 2024

Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Wilfrid Logan Glenn. Wilf was born on September 3, 1953, at Calgary General Hospital to his mother Mickey Gardiner “Ma” (Cliff) and Bud Glenn. The family lived in Calgary, Regina, Sundre and Spruceview while finally putting down roots in the Caroline area. Wilf was proud to be a major part of building “Ma’s” dream home on their picture-perfect property along the banks of Prairie Creek. Wilf was rebellious, slightly mischievous, and adventurous. He was quick to tease and gave nicknames to almost every-one and everything. Always in the most loving and well-intentioned way as only he could be. Wilf was the first born of four brothers Chris Glenn “Cricket”, Charles Glenn “Chester”, and Kenny Glenn “Toad” (Susan “Squeeze”). Wilf married Lora Moore “Lugs” and had his eldest son Jason Glenn “JL”. He later met Joyce Loomis “Joycey” and had his 2nd son Mathew Glenn “Fetus” (Mel). He then met Fagre Kanten “Black Mamba”, Aftyn Reum “Aftune”, and had his two daughters Jynelle Glenn “Jellybean”, and his youngest Jafryn Glenn “Blackjack”. He was a beloved uncle to Nathan, Eli, Jo, Dan, Stacy, Scott, Tyler, Robin and Dyllon. Wilf was a good natured and fun grandfather to Shayza, Justice, Kayah, Ryder, Braxton and Oscar. Although Wilf had numerous friends that he loved and cherished and who loved and cherished him also, his best friend was Charlie Archibald “Ankle Dancer”, “Nip n’ Zeeky”. In his time on earth, he became an esteemed driller in the oil-field, a talented carpenter and an artistic welder. He was also mechanically inclined and loved to wrench on cars and modify them into “bush buggies” or “blitz buggies”. To mention a couple, he had a ‘49 Ford he called “Henry” and a ‘67 he called “Red Fred”. His love for Motorcycles inspired many bike trips with friends and family including California, Reno and Tusker to name a few. Even though his final ‘Ride’ had four wheels and was an electric scooter, he named it “Hardley Davidson”. Wilf was also a prolific Guitarist and Musical genius. It didn’t matter what you wanted to learn to play, he had a gift for learning songs by only hearing them once. He shared his love for music with his children, friends and family teaching them many techniques on the guitar. There were many wonderful jam sessions while in his company. Wilf was loved by his community and by all who had the privilege to know him. He had a wonderful sense of humour and made everyone around him feel the love. His infectious laugh, playful spirit, and kind heart will be greatly missed. We will always carry you in our hearts. True to his nature and until we meet again, Live. Laugh. Love.
