Despite her strong will, and courage it is with great sorrow that we announce that Patty passed suddenly surrounded by family on March 21,2025. Patty was born in Drayton Valley on April 8,1967 and was the second youngest of the family. Patty often spoke of her time on the farm growing up, and her love for the outdoors. Patty’s fondest childhood memories were rodeo, camping with the horse team and her dad, spending summers at Okanagan Lake and skiing. Going into Patty’s adult years she found great joy in rock picking in the “bad lands”, driving and hikes in the mountains, soaking up the sun, camping and being with her family. Patty loved sporadic late-night baking and any reason to eat popcorn. Patty loved and adored her dog Polar, whom she often referred to as her best friend- it was very rare for them to be apart. Patty dedicated a large part of her life to her children and grandchildren who were the lights of her life. Patty will be remembered for her strength, her laugh, her bright smile and most of all her sass.
Patty is predeceased by her mom Gail Macfarland, grandparents Ray and Ethel Zeer, John and Minnie Macfarland, and her grandson Kade Horwath.
Patty is survived by her father Blain (Gayle) Zeer, sisters Janette (Lance) Strom, Shelley (Randy) Hovey, brothers Bob (Linda) Galloway, Wade (Lynette) Galloway. Patty’s children Cameron (Ashleigh) Horwath, Ryan (Laura) Visser and Brianna Visser. Finally, her beloved grandchildren Anaya, Jazlyn, Tayla, Alarian, Jamison, Zane and Cashlyn.
In Lieu of flowers or donations can be sent to the Arthur J.E Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre.

Teresa Yewell:
I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. I have never forgot her or stopped loving her. Life is weird how friends come and go. Patty and I were an integral part of each others lives during our friendship. She was my chosen family and I cherished her as much. We shared our lives and our families with each other, we shared secrets, tears and so much laughter. I’ve missed that soul level connection and no one will ever be able to replace it. My heart breaks for all of you as I know how she was ‘The Mama’ that gave her everything to her family. Please accept my sincerest condolences and know that I will treasure my memories spent with your mom

We couldn't believe it when we heard of Patty's passing. Seems like it was just a few weeks ago that we talked to her at Burger Baron, time flies so fast. Anyway, we are thinking of you both and sending you hugs for the loss of your little sis.
