CONSTANCE JUNE GIBSON (nee Healy)
February 10, 1931 – March 24, 2024
Our dear mom June passed away peacefully in Rocky Mountain House, AB at the age of 93. Mom and Dad lived in many places in the mining industry, from the NWT to Ontario, Quebec and the Yukon. In retirement they moved back to Ontario, then to Chase, B.C. where Dad passed away in 2003. Mom moved to Alberta in 2007 to be with family.
Mom was an avid knitter, loved to watch football and curling on TV, and read her many books. She always entertained family and friends with stories of her interesting and busy life with four children, from one side of Canada to the other.
Mom leaves behind her children – Paula (Dale), John (Monica), Cathleen (Kirk) and Susan (Marty); her sister Joan, two nephews and a niece; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Mom was predeceased by her parents Edwin and Enid Healy, her husband John (Gib), her sister Joyce and her nephew James.
We will miss you Mom.
The family thanks the staff and home care at Westview Lodge and the nurses and doctors at the Rocky Hospital for their kindness and care of our Mom.
As per Mom’s request there will be no service. Mom’s ashes will be freed at the Sign Post in Keno Hill, Yukon to join our Dad.
Grief is the reminder
that love was present,
and that even if it’s no longer in its
original form,
that love still exists.

Pam Walden:
I met June in the 1970s in Whitehorse, Yukon. I was a teenager working out of town at a camp job and was friends with her kids. I enjoyed many Saturday night suppers at the Gibson house - ribs and roast, baked potatoes and salad, and fresh baking like I'd never seen before. June and I would sit and play scrabble after supper and talk about everything under the sun. We kept in touch and continued our friendship over the years and many moves. I visited June and Gib in Parry Sound and Chase, and June later in Lacombe and Rocky. I enjoyed chatting with her on the phone regularly and hearing about her many adventures in her younger years in the north with the family. She was a good friend to me and I shall miss her greatly.
Derek Lovlin:
Sorry to hear about your Mother. I last saw her in Chase when she visited Mom. she obviously lived a long and well filled life. Sounds a little silly but I have pretty clear memories of her, and all of you, being next door to us in Discovery in the 50's. Hope all the family is well.
