It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Aunt, Margaret Anne Schrader Sunday, Nov 10, 2024. Marg was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Anne and Lloyd Fletcher on July 25, 1943. Her Dad referred to her as his Christmas in July. At the end of the war the family moved back to Airdrie, Alberta. Her little sister Charlette was born just before Marg’s 5th birthday. In 1950 the family relocated to James River Bridge, Alberta where they took over the James River General Store. By the time she was 10 she was working in the store. She quit school in grade eleven and went to work keeping house for Muriel Eskrick in Sundre. Baby sister Teresa joined the family in March of 1959. A month before her 17th birthday she married Jack Schrader, and they moved to Schrader Flats where they resided for quite a few years. Early in their marriage Joanne Elizabeth arrived followed by Eugene Lloyd Walter two years later and Edward Albert 18 months after.
She enjoyed sewing, dancing, travelling and watching the Survivor series. Mostly she enjoyed being the boss and regardless of how old you were she still expected you to jump when she told you to! A big part of her life was immersed in bucking horses, bulls, rodeo offices and announcer stand.
Due to her health her last few years were spent in Sunset Manor, Innisfail, Alberta and Mountain View Seniors Supportive Living Facility, Sundre, Alberta.
She was predeceased by her husband Jack Schrader, son-in-law Shane Stelter, her parents Lloyd and Anne Fletcher and her in-laws Walt and Peggy Schrader. Left to mourn her passing are her children Joanne Stelter, Eugene Schrader, Edward Schrader (Yvonne), 12 grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren, her sisters Charlette Harris, Teresa Hanson (Gary), Karen Hinz along with numerous nieces and nephews.
