Jerald Edward Harriott

April 21st, 1943 - August 8th, 2020

Jerald Edward Harriott was born at Wimborne, AB on April 21st, 1943 to Agnes and Edward Harriott. The family eventually moved to Caroline, AB where Jerry took his schooling. Jerry worked many jobs including camp cook, rig driller, and pack rat tank truck driver. He also spent a year working on the rigs in Nigeria.

Karen and Jerry were married on June 15th, 1984 and a family with four kids was formed. Jerry enjoyed lots of time fishing and camping, teaching kids and grandkids the love of the sport. He even took Christa fishing in the back-country when she was 8 ½ months pregnant. It was a good thing she didn’t go into labor. He was a hell of a hillbilly golf player, we’ve lost track of how many holes in one he got, and he liked to tinker on anything making it work. He was a heck of a small engine mechanic. Jerry was very proud of his vegetable garden and most of the time had it planted by his birthday. He continued to work in his garden until his illness prevented him from doing so. He was the first one to get wood when camping, he always had a sparkle in his eye, a mischievous smile on his face, and was up for a joke anytime. He fought a hard battle right to the end. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

Jerry is survived by his wife and best friend Karen, his children Ed (Anita) Harriott, Christa (Gavin) Trimble, Clayton Harriott, Shawn (Brandi) Kirton, 8 grandchildren, his brother Rick (Pauline) Harriott, his sister Ardith Ogilvie, his mother-in-law Lillian Scott, and many numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Jerry was predeceased by many family members.

A Celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at a later date.
