Lauzon, Ronald
1941-20233
Ronald H. Lauzon of Caroline, Alberta (formerly of Kapuskasing, Ontario), passed away on November 16th, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.
Ron was known for his workmanship and ethic as a master carpenter and was the founder of Lauzon’s Woodshop and Lauzon’s Gazebos. To this day, his work continues to be enjoyed by his clients in Canada and the United States.
After moving to Alberta in 1979, he and his family held a brief residence in Calgary, Alberta but Ron brought his family to Caroline to be closer to the wilderness, as he loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved camping and gathering with family and friends. He was not one for the busy city life but more the likes of a stiff rum and coke by the campfire. Ron’s kind and gentle nature was most apparent with children, pets and animals. He was very special to all his grandchildren, who followed him everywhere. He was their friend, teacher and a loving example for them to carry throughout their lives and beyond. Ron was a true innovator in his field and there was nothing he wouldn’t and couldn’t tackle. He was always ready to lend a hand to his neighbors or his community. Unfortunately, on April 7th, 2015, a serious skid steer accident changed his life forever, as he spent a year in the hospital defying all odds and expectations of recovery. Ron’s tenacious spirit, extreme pain tolerance, stubbornness and strong will to live for his wife, Gisele, were the driving forces in his recovery, allowing him to return to the home he built and enjoyed for many years. Ron will be deeply missed; his spirit will go on forever in the hearts of those who loved him and recognized him as their hero, loving Husband, Father, Granddad, Great-Granddad, Uncle and Friend.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Gisele Lauzon (nee Gascon), and their children son Marc and wife Angela; daughter Therese (aka Therry) and her children: Chadd, Adon, Mattison and Brooke; daughter Crystal, her children: Ethan, Isabelle and Austin; also included is his beloved nephew Mitch and wife Jean, their children: Daniel (Kristi, William and Lilly) and Cody; daughter-in-law Laura (Jay), his grandson Chase; Ron’s siblings: Gaetan (Pauline), Regine (Thomas), Pauline, Noella; with many extended family and very close friends. Estranged son, Pierre.
Ron was predeceased by his parents Hormidas and Marie-Ange, brother Daniel, and recently, brother-in-law Leo.
No Service will be held as per Ron’s wishes.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ron’s name to Caroline’s Meals on Wheels program or STARS air ambulance.

I am very sad to hear of Ron’s passing. I briefly got to know Ron as a caregiver for him at the Clearwater Centre. I enjoyed getting to know Ron and appreciated his kindness and sense of humour. It was so nice to see the love that he and Gisele shared for one and other. I send condolences to Gisele and the rest of the family.
