It is with heavy hearts and much sadness that we announce the passing of our father, George Franklin Bott at the age of 94. He passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025, in his home at The Hamlets in Red Deer, Alberta. He was surrounded by Florence, his loving wife, and many family members. He was born August 30th, 1930, in Eckville, AB.
Many times, we heard Dad say, “Burning Daylight.” You could say this was his creed. He never wasted a minute in life. Whether it was to lend a helping hand or a broad shoulder, Dad touched many lives. He had a love for the outdoors enjoying fishing, hiking and camping and he always made sure us kids were able to enjoy it with him. He and Mom enjoyed travel and were able to go to many places including China, Thailand and winters at Lake Havasu, Arizona.
Dad married Florence Marie Kring on October 31, 1953, and spent their 71+ years together in the Leslieville and Rocky area before moving into The Hamlets in Red Deer in 2019. From bush camps to city life, together they experienced it all with Dad always at the head of his home, there for Mom, us kids, relatives, friends and members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints which he belonged to.
Dad is survived by his loving wife and companion, Florence, 3 sons, Derry (Hazel) of Prince Rupert, BC, Stirling (Heather) of Lacombe, AB, Bob (Denise) of Leslieville, AB and by 3 daughters, Brenda Kult (Jim) of Red Deer, AB, Shelly Palumbo (Barry) of Golden, BC, Kim Woodruff (Cal) of Innisfail, AB. He is survived by 32 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Dad is survived by brothers Dan (Terry) and Alex, brother-in-law Larry Toews (Issie). He is pre-deceased by 1 son, 4 sisters, 3 brothers, 1 grandson and 2 great grandchildren.

Mieke Wolfs:
One of our dearest friends for nearly 50 years has gone back home, to our friend Jesus, and all his loved ones on the other side of the veil. A great rejoicing. Reporting on a life lived to the fullest. He is also there with my Herman. The whole Bott family was our family as they made us feel that way. Hugs and nothing but love! We felt at home with them. Thank you Bott family for giving us that privilege, to us “Dutchies”. May the Lord bless you all with love, comfort and hope, for us to carry on as George gave the example, to be thankful for the gift of life. The message from all Wolfies is “ Big Hugs and Love for your lovely family in this time of missing George.
We remember our Georgie Porgie.

I am so grateful for the knowledge for the Plan of Happiness and the fact that we will see each other again. I can visualize the joyful reunion that George is having with those he loves who have gone on before him. Oh, how great the plan of our God. Thank you for a wonderful friendship all these years. With Love.
