Obituary

Radford, Martha Patricia

July 1, 1940 – December 28, 2020

It is with great sadness that the family of Martha Patricia Radford (Ramstead) announces her passing on December 28, 2020 at the Good Samaritan’s in Rocky Mountain House, AB after a lengthy battle with MSA.

Martha was born on July 1, 1940 at the family homestead near Archerwell, Sk. She was the youngest of 11 children born to Jennie and Ole Ramstead. As a young lady she was very sport orientated, receiving numerous medals for figure skating and track and field.

Martha met and later married William Radford on December 15, 1959. They started their married life in Flin Flon, MB. This is where their first daughter Laurie was born. Shortly after the family moved to Snow Lake, MB. and their youngest daughter Debra was born. From there they made several more moves: Allen, Lanigan, Chelan, Golden, and Bonnyville before ending up in Rocky Mountain House in 1980.

One of Martha’s passions was fastball; where she pitched and was know to all players as “MA”. Golfing was her second passion and in later years you would find her and Bill on the course daily, she could sure hit that ball, bettering many a man off the tee.

Martha is survived by her daughters Laurie (Carl) and Debra (Glen); grandsons: Bobby (Charity), Jason (Miranda), Gordon (Tamara) and Brad; great grandchildren: Brendon, Jaxsyn, Jada, Summer, and Logan; one sister June, in-laws Reg (Laura-lyn), Terry (Dorothy), Cliff (Sharron), Carol (Ralph), Bernice (Steve), Kay (Wally), Marion, Doreen, Delores and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Martha was predeceased by her husband of 61 years William Radford, who passed away September 22, 2017; her seven brothers: Arvin, Morrel, Ken, Ole Jr., Arne, Harvey and Lyle; 2 sisters Olive and Irene; in-laws George, John and Allan.

May she finally rest in peace.

Marth’s final resting place will be next to her husband in Pine Grove Cemetery, Rocky Mountain House, AB.

Due to restrictions a Memorial Service for Martha will be held at a later date.
