Evans, William Robert
1930 – 2026
It is with great sadness the family of William Robert Evans announces his passing on May 25, 2026. William “Bob” was to born on December 27, 1930 in Indus, Alberta to Alice and Bill Evans. Bob moved to Caroline, Alberta in 1950. In 1955, he met Darlene Harvie and married her in 1956. Shortly after, in 1957 Glen was born followed by Eddie in 1959 and a daughter, Marie, was born in 1963.
Bob worked at the Pioneer General Store for Dorothy and Vance Braucht; he hauled cows and groceries. He continued to Joy and Earl Graham when they took over from Dorothy and Vance Braucht. He tried being a janitor at the school for a short time. Then we went back to work at the Pioneer General Store. When Darlene passed in 1993, Bob went to work for Marshal Holbrook at the Caroline Farm Supplies. When Marshal sold the store to Ian Willigar, he went to work for Napa, where he worked until he retired in 2015.
Bob lived at home until 3 weeks ago.
Bob is survived by Glen (Claudia), Ed (Rosie), Marie (Steve); 8 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Darlene; grandson Brian; and parents Alice and Bill. He is also predeceased by his in-laws Gertie and Jim Harvie, sister in law and brother in law Arlene and Erling Olsen.

Sorry for the loss of your dad. I remember meeting him the summer of 1979 when I started working for Calgary Power. If we were working around Caroline, Bill Glover or Garry Murdoch and myself would sometimes stop at the Pioneer Store lunch counter for lunch. Bob was always a great guy to talk to. We’re thinking about you guys, he will be missed.
