In lieu of flowers, donations in Gracie’s memory may be made to the Roar Society in Rocky Mountain House to honor her love of animals.
It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the loss of our beautiful, beloved daughter and sister Gracelyn Faith Meronowich at the age of 13.
From the day that she was born, our little Gracie Bear was the perfect completion to our wonderful family. As a little girl, she was so full of energy, happiness and love, always wanting cuddles and hugs. Gracie loved every second of being cuddled up in her wrap as her mom lovingly toted her around for miles. She was so inseparable from her mom, that she spent almost half of her incredibly short life snuggled into our bed at nights.
She was never far away from her big sister and best friend Cadence. The two of them would always be playing together, jumping on the trampoline for hours, riding bikes and also culprits in crime as they were making slime, or potions or painting, making messy “masterpieces". Lots of numerous flooring, carpet and towel stains have been a direct result of Gracie’s inquisitive nature making her creations. Gracie always lovingly looked up to her older brothers Dyson and Dalen. If they were playing catch in the front yard, soon a small baseball game with all four siblings would be taking place. If the boys got out their dirt bikes, then soon after Gracie would be following along on her little quad whether out camping or just around our property. She would also play with trucks and equipment in the sandbox imitating her big brothers. All four siblings shared a strong bond built on love, respect and family. Gracie always enjoyed family camping trips, family get togethers throughout the year, any time at swimming pools and lakes and had a huge love of all animals especially dogs and cats.
Gracie always enjoyed her sports, playing baseball, hockey and basketball. Not always a fan of practices, she enjoyed the competition of all sports and playing on teams with her friends and the comradery that it created. She also enjoyed being in band the last 3 years, playing the trumpet and was very much looking forward to Band Camp.
One of Gracie’s closest companions was her dog Akira, though to Gracie she was never just a dog, she was “just a baby”. Akira would curl up beside her at night, follow her from room to room and never let Gracie out of her sight. Their bond was unbreakable, built on love, comfort and loyalty. Gracie would proudly tell you she was perfect and anyone who saw them could tell how great they were together. Akira feels her absence greatly and still continues to find her way to Gracie’s bedside at night.
As Gracie grew older, her friendships became such an important part of her life. Whether at school, sleepovers or simply hanging out, she loved being surrounded by her close friends. Her circle of friends gave her a true sense of belonging and brought her so much happiness. Some of her best memories were filled with late night laughter, long talks, shenanigans and the special bond that only teenage girls can share.
Gracie is predeceased by her cousin Blayze Nothof, her Grandpa Ol’ Truck and Grandma Pie (Don and Edna Meronowich) and her Great Grandpa Rolf Johansson.
Gracie will be forever loved and missed by her mom and dad Crystal and Blayne Meronowich, her sister and best friend Cadence Meronowich and her two big brothers Dyson and Dalen Meronowich.
Also feeling great loss are Papa and Grandma John and Karen Radics, her aunties Taralee (Ron) Nothof, Carrie Opdendries and Nicole Bradshaw, her uncles Troy (Carly) Radics, Shawn Radics and Jonathon Opdendries, her cousins Briley Nothof, Jaiden & Phil (son Hayes), Landen and Bauer Opdendries, Eberley Radics, Raya and Emma Lee Radics, her close circle of best friends and numerous other relatives and friends.
In memory of Gracie, may we all hold our loved ones a little closer. Never forget to shower them with hugs and always tell them “I love you”. To value and respect your friendships deeply just as Gracie did.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Gracie’s memory may be made to the Roar Society in Rocky Mountain House to honor her love of animals.
We would like to invite you to share in our celebration of Gracie’s life on Saturday October 4th, 2025, at the Leslieville Community Center at 1:00 pm. Gracie was absolutely not a fan of dress up moments, so please feel free to wear whatever makes you comfortable.
Condolences may be forwarded to www.rockyfuneralhome.ca.
