Obituary

Earl Stanley Medin

November 20, 1952 – June 12, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Earl Stanley Medin on June 12, 2026.

Earl was born on November 20, 1952, in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.
He will be remembered for his quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and his genuine love for people. His kindness, generosity, and ability to bring laughter to those around him left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Throughout his life, Earl worked in scouting before discovering his true passion as a grader operator. His dedication to his craft eventually led him to establish his own business, Double M Grader Service, where he built a reputation for hard work, reliability, and pride in a job well done.

Earl was always willing to lend a helping hand and never hesitated to give his time to those in need. Family was at the center of his life, and becoming a grandfather brought him immense joy. He cherished his grandchildren and took great pride in each of them.

Earl was predeceased by his parents, Stanley (1993) and Irene (2013); his beloved son, Rory Medin (2008); his sister, Mona Medin (2024); his stepsister, Esther (2014); and his parents-in-law, Louie Fisher (2011) and Dell Fisher (2026), and nephew Jayden Evans (2020).

He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Karen Medin; his daughter, Darcee Medin; and his treasured grandchildren, Brandon Menzies, Kasyn Walsh, Christian Medin, Lane Walsh, Colby Walsh, and Kajyn Medin.

Earl is also survived by his siblings, Ed (Millie), Iona (Adrian), Dick (Elaine), Len (Judy), Evan (Jacquie), and Clint (Kathy); his stepsister, Heather; and his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Kim (Calvin), Stuart (Frances), Barb (Rick), Jane (Kirby), and Murray (Corrina). He will also be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A celebration of Earl's life will be held at the Chapel of the Rocky Funeral Home on June 22, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.

For those wishing to make a memorial donation in Earls' name they may be made to STARS in Earl's memory.

Earl's laughter, generosity, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
