Robert Smith
1944- 2026
Robert “Bob” David Vincent Smith passed away on July 2nd, 2026, shortly after his 82nd birthday, at the Rocky Mountain House Health Centre.
Bob was a loving husband to Vicki of 50 years, cherished father to Stephanie and Ryan (Elise), doting Poppa to Hayden and Cameron, beloved brother of Susan Martin (Cass), and constant companion to his faithful dog, Finn. Bob will be fondly remembered by extended family and friends in Ontario.
Bob worked hard for over 40 years, investigating frauds and forgery for various institutions. He was admired and respected by his colleagues for his hard work and dedication.
Bob had a love for the outdoors, including fishing, boating, hunting, and golfing. He also enjoyed cards, reading, travelling, and dinners with friends.
We are grateful for the care Bob received while hospitalized. We appreciate all the staff who cared for him. A special thank you to Dr. Gordon, Dr. Mundell, Alyssa, Crystal, Darwin and Leslie.
His greatest joy in life was the time spent with his family. Bob will be forever remembered and missed dearly by those who love him.
There will be a private family funeral.

Barry Horth:
I was totally gobsmacked to learn of Bob's recent passing. While I have only known Bob and Vicki for a couple
of years, and mostly on a business basis, I thoroughly enjoyed working for and with Bob. He had an
underlying feisty character and subtle sense of humour which made for some memorable work sessions.
Having both had investigative backgrounds, although in different industries, some lively chats were had
over mostly water during coffee breaks.
I am sure that Finn too will miss his best "bud" as much as we miss our recently lost boxer.

Bob was the best pal to my late husband Brad. We loved Bob & his family whom I am grateful to for still remaining very good friends with. Bob loved his family & was always such a loving person to us. His friendship was cherished & the love, laughter & kindness that was shared will always be remembered. His laughter was contagious. I smile as I can just see that face with that laugh & that chuckle. I have such good fun memories with you all. Enjoy heaven my friend. I’m sure you & Brad will be pals up there.
