RANDALL ROBERT NIXON
OBITUARY
It is with profound sadness that the family of Randy Nixon announces his passing at Red Deer Hospice in Alberta on September 8, 2026.
Randy fought a four-year battle with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. His calculated-will to not give in to this paralyzing disease gave us an extra two years of his dry humour with him defeating all odds.
Calculated was literally what he was: a mathematics genius. He used his skill in the career he loved and mentored others in: construction. He built to perfection -- and continued to build and supervise the renovations of his Rocky Mountain cottage up to the week he died.
Like everything else he did, he wasn’t just a mechanic, he was a master mechanic. He was never happier than under the hood of one of his many classic cars.
Randy was born in Vancouver, B.C. on April 3rd, 1964.
He leaves behind his wife Lisa “Simone” Fraser; his son, Jesse Tyler Nixon; his bonus son, Lauchlan Fraser; and bonus daughter, Lauren Anderson, son in law Kodye Anderson and first grandson Rowe Anderson, as well as his sister, Cheryl Elley and former wife Gina Nixon.
Preceded by his mother Jaqueline Nixon and his father Robert Nixon, both of the Okanagan, B.C., Randy will be inurned in Pine Grove Cemetery in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, with his mother.
Randy was always “large and in charge” deferring only to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
May you always be with the greatest carpenter of all. Until we meet again.
Please join us in honoring the memory of our beloved Randy.
