Obituary

Dale "Chum" Maxwell Christianson April 28, 1941 - August 10, 2026

Dale Maxwell Christianson peacefully passed away on August 10, 2026, at the age of 85, leaving behind a lifetime of stories, laughter and memories that will be treasured by those who loved him.

Dale is survived by his wife of 66 years, Carol, and their daughter, Cheryl (Brian). He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Trevor (Jen), Travis (Jo), Amber (Jesse), Steven and Cody, and his great-grandchildren Eseces, Davin, Presley, Kolby, Ty, Jaycee and Blake. He was predeceased by his son, Mardy.

Throughout his life, Dale took on a variety of roles. He worked.on the drilling rigs in the Beaufort Sea, served as Assistant Manager for the Town of Caroline, and spent 43 years as the manager of Gaetz Mobile Home Park. Along the way, he formed many friendships and collected more than a few good stories to tell.

Dale loved being outdoors. Fishing, boating, hunting and camping were some of his favourite ways to spend his time. He was always ready to tell his grandchildren a story or take them for a skidoo ride and wiener roast.

He also had a talent for woodworking and enjoyed creating pieces with his own hands. He and Carol were well-respected vendors at farmers markets, where his woodworking could be shared with others.

Dale enjoyed a good party and rarely needed much convincing to sing a song or pick up his guitar. A fan of Gene Watson and Willie Nelson, music was another.part of who he was.

He took great pride in his yard and was especially proud of having some of the best lawn in the neighbourhood.

Dale will be remembered for his stories, his sense of humour, and the way he could turn an ordinary moment into a memory. His presence will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him, but the stories of Chum will undoubtedly be told for years to come.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

There will be no formal service for Dale, so please take time to think of Carol and the family as they grieve.

For those wishing to make a memorial donation, they may be made to the Red Deer Cancer Clinic.
