Schroderus, Phyllis Mary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mom, Phyllis Mary Schroderus, at the age of 87. She passed away on December 16, 2025, at the Breton Long Term Care Home in Breton, Alberta. Phyllis was born on October 1, 1938, in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.
Mom grew up in the Leslieville area with loving parents, Ed and Mary Smith, and sister Lorraine. Instilled in her was a strong sense of family and she carried these values throughout her life.
Mom was a devoted wife, loving mother, and a cherished grandmother. She was our rock. In
past years she enjoyed playing the piano, sewing, crocheting and knitting, and was a member of the Leslieville Royal Purple.
Phyllis is survived by her son Ken (Sandy), daughter Audrey, and grandson Emmett, Special nieces and nephew-Karen (Robin) Tolonen, Lorne Schroderus, Julie Schroderus, and Loralie (Russell) Mottus, and many more nieces, nephews and cousins.
Phyllis is predeceased by her husband, Ensio in 2005, parents Mary and Ed Smith, sister Lorraine Schroderus, son-in-law Don Jones, brother-in-law's Oliver, John, Eino, Wilbert Schroderus, and sister-in-law Teresa Thon.
We would like to thank: The Breton Long Term Care Home for their care and support of our mom. We would also like to thank Terrie Airey and Lorry Ward for their care, allowing our mom to remain longer in her own home.
In honor of Phyllis, memorial donations may be made to: Breton Long-Term Care, Alberta Cancer Foundation, Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Condolences may be forwarded to www.rockyfuneralhome.ca.
