It is with deep sorrow we announce our husband, father, and grandfather Jack Gordon Wickens passed away November 17th, 2025, into God’s graces after a battle with cancer at Rimbey Hospital and Care Center.
A warrior throughout life, he was 84 years old. He is survived by many loving individuals, including his bride of 52 years Dorothy, his sons, Gary and Glen, daughter in law Leah, grandchildren Thayne, Natalia, Zoie and Zecharah.
He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Barbara Wickens, sister Patricia McKeage, brother in law Randy McKeage, and daughter in law Wanita.
Being a quiet man Jack had a full life enjoying outdoor activities with friends and family. Harvesting firewood, farming, backpacking, back country camping, fishing and quadding were a few of his pleasures. Jack had a strong passion for gardening, he could make anything flourish whether a fruit tree or row of potatoes, his root cellar and freezer were always full. In his alone time, he read volumes of fiction novels.
He will be greatly missed and remembered forever in our hearts.
A memorial service will be held in his memory Thursday, November 27, 2025, at 1:00pm, Flinn Funeral Services Ltd. Rocky Funeral Home 4804 48th Street Rocky Mountain House.
