It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our Husband, Father, Grandpa and Paké to a very aggressive battle with Glioblastoma.
Hank was born in Bristum (FR) Netherland to Evelyn and Harm Nicolay. He immigrated to Canada in 1953 and resided in the Rocky Mountain House areas until June 16,1971 when they moved to the farm east of Alhambra on Hwy 11.
Every year he looked forward to seeding and harvesting, and you would often see him driving around in his red truck. But more than anything he loved visits from his 16 grands and 18 greats.
Hank is survived by his wife Ann of almost 60 years -Married on July 8,1966 and their children: son Harold (Norma) and their family: Houston (Kelci) – Nolan ,Henry, Bennett, Duncan; Darren (Taylor)- Nyla, Milo; Cullen (Maigan) – Piper; Melanie (Scott) – Nora; daughter: Rhonda (Rick) and their family: Jennifer (Trevor) – Aryanna, Braxtyn; Allan (Annie) – Sofie, Nathan; Kayla (Taylor) – Harlee, Scarlett; Son: Alvin (Jamie) and their families:Taylar (James) – Keenan, Laikyn; Tyler – Ella; Maizie (Dwight); son Ian (Sandi) and their family: Chance (Joanne) – Stetson; Chase (Cassie); Coalby (Shae); Raven (Austin); and daughter: Yvonne and family: Lexi (Sam) and Ethan. He is also survived by his brothers: Bob (Jenny), William (Susan); sister Elsie (Ben) and numerous nieces and nephews and Ann's family.
He was predeceased by his parents Evelyn and Harm Nicolay and Ann’s parents Joanne and Arie Hoeksema and niece Diane Nicolay.
At Hank’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service.
